Meet The Team

Stefanie Blakley

Founder & Questies Team Lead

After 3 years of running a licensed Family Child Care, Stefanie's passion for being outside could no longer be contained within a home based program. Stefanie holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. She brings her love of music and dance into her work with children and her experience working in a licensed setting informs setting up an organized program with proper safety protocols. Stefanie is passionate about helping families and offers individualized development for parents and caregivers who may be struggling with some behaviours, dynamics or developmental stages.

Stephen Blakley

Founder & Nature Club Lead

Stephen has been helping run a licensed Family Child Care for the last 3 years. He has experience as a Behavioural Interventionist working with children with Autism and holds a Responsible Adult Certificate. Stephen has years of experience as a professional performer and uses his love of music and creating to engage with the children he cares for.

Angie Dube

Founder & Marketing Team

Angie holds a BA in Child/Youth Care & Counselling, with a Child Protection specialization. She has been working with children and youth for over 10 years. She's worked frontline with youth on the DTES, in after-school care with newcomers and refugees and has been a Program Manager for Youth Mentoring programs. Angie is passionate about early outdoor education for children, creating experiences that positively impact them, and help them reach their full potential and fuel their curiosity.

As parents ourselves we know how important it is to get to know the people who will be spending time with your kids! Here is a bit about us, our values and experience working with kids of all ages. Above all else Stefanie, Stephen and Angie adore working with children and are passionate about constantly pursuing knowledge and offering research based care. We look forward to getting to know you!

Our Story

Stefanie & Stephen opened Keiki Trails licensed Family Child Care in 2020. The center focused on play based learning and spending as much time as possible outside everyday, no matter the weather.

Angie registered her children for the first ever cohort and our philosophies quickly aligned. Through our education, work experience and parenting we have noticed: children are happier, more creative, adventurous, and curious in nature. Incorporating traditional school-based learning into outdoor experiences showed us that, our kids were learning and retaining more knowledge playing and exploring outside. Furthermore, research supports this type of learning and play.

As uninvited settlers we are honoured to live on the lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples. We continue to build our outdoor community based program, we will connect with nature and reflect on and learn from Indigenous values. QuestCoast Kids is the culmination of our diverse education, experience running licensed daycare, working for non-profits, and creating and running children and teen programming, and our passion for creating space for our children to grow to be positive members of our outdoor community.
